Pre-Production | Development Blog Week 5 - Total War Saga: Troy

Development Blog Week 5 - Total War Saga Troy

Welcome back to the fifth week of my level design development blog! This week I have been focusing on creating more block outs within my level.

This week I started with creating the remaining buildings within the inner of the city. However there may still be some tweaking as I will want to get building positions correct. I also need to keep the Total War aspect within my city as I need to make sure there is enough room for armies to move throughout the city.

I did however have a few problems trying to create an capture point that fit within my level as the circular one did not fit within the theme of the city, therefore creating a larger capture point would be more adequate. It would also create a strategic point for attackers and defenders as this would become a highly fought over point to defend or attack.

I then added a block out of a flag which will eventually sit in the centre of the capture point area. This is to indicate to the player that this area is available for capturing.

I then decided to add in more buildings and more detail block outs, this should complete the pre production of my level. I have blocked out all intended spots for trees, buildings and rocks. However I will add more detail into my level where I deem fit when I start the production of my level.

Next week I will be starting creation of my level. I will be starting to texture as well as replace block outs with textured models to start putting my design together. Make sure to stay up to date with my development blog!
